Terms of Use
By using nagatranslate.in or the NagaTranslate Android app, you agree to these terms. They are written to be readable; where a term has a specific legal meaning, that meaning applies.
1. Acceptance
These terms govern your use of the NagaTranslate website at nagatranslate.in and the NagaTranslate Android application (together, the "Service"), operated by Agniva Maiti. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service
The Service provides machine-assisted translation, conversational language practice, a phrasebook and written language guides. It is provided free of charge. There is no service level commitment, and features may change or be withdrawn at any time.
Usage limits apply to some features — NagaChat is limited to 50 messages per day per user, and translation input is limited in length. These limits exist to keep the Service running within its costs and may be adjusted.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to produce content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory or hateful.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas or access controls, including through automated scraping of the translation endpoints.
- Submit deliberately false translations or contributions, or otherwise attempt to corrupt the language dataset.
- Interfere with the operation of the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it.
- Resell or commercially redistribute translation output as though it were a service of your own.
We may restrict or block access where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.
4. Contributions
When you submit a phrase or a correction, you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, reproduce and distribute that contribution as part of the NagaTranslate language dataset, including for improving translation quality and for publication in the phrasebook and guides.
You confirm that you are entitled to submit the contribution and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. Please do not submit copyrighted text, or personal information about yourself or anyone else.
Contributions are not attributed to individual contributors. We may edit, reject or remove any contribution.
5. No warranty of accuracy
Translations are produced by automated systems and may be wrong. Nagamese, Ao and Sümi are low-resource languages and error rates are meaningfully higher than for well-resourced languages.
The same applies to the written content on this Service — the phrasebook, the example sentences and the grammar descriptions in the guides. That material is compiled from published references and from contributions by speakers, is not independently audited, and is written by an author who is not a native speaker of any of the three languages. It may contain errors, and regional and community usage varies.
The Service must not be relied on for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical or otherwise consequential purposes. Always have important text checked by a qualified human translator or a native speaker. See the disclaimer for detail.
If you find an error, please report it via the contribute form or by email. Reports are acted on as quickly as we reasonably can, and the affected page's update date is revised.
6. Intellectual property
The written guides, site design, and the NagaTranslate name and logo are the property of the operator. You may quote short extracts from the guides with attribution and a link to the source page. You may not republish them in full.
The application source code is published at github.com/AgnivaMaiti/nagatranslate and is governed by the licence stated in that repository.
Photographs sourced from Wikimedia Commons are used under their respective licences and credited in the caption beneath each image. Reference material cited in the guides remains the property of its publishers.
If you believe material on this site infringes your rights, email hello@mynimalistic.com with "Takedown" in the subject line and the specific URL, and we will respond promptly.
7. Third-party services and links
The Service depends on third-party providers for hosting, AI inference, speech processing and advertising, as listed in the privacy policy. It also links to external websites. We are not responsible for the content, policies or availability of third-party sites.
8. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on a translation produced by the Service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9. Changes and governing law
These terms may be updated from time to time; the revised version takes effect when posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India shall have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
